The month of April is shaping up to be a busy one for the drunk driving attorneys at the Law Office of Shawn C. Brown. And it goes without much ado to relate a few simple tenets of a successful legal defense, and that is an intimate knowledge of legal matters and a solid foundation of attorney preparation.

Defense attorney Adrian Flores of the Law Office of Shawn C. Brown would be an asset to any Alamo City organization, because he is a stickler for detail with a rudimentary basis in criminal law. In a recent South Texas case during the week of April 6-10, Adrian worked tirelessly against the state to exonerate one of his clients who was pulled over for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) with a resultant breath test registering .10.

The state needed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Adrian’s client’s arrest was done by the book. But alas, the state could not prove their case and had to drop all charges when it was unable to prove his client’s guilt by the reasonable doubt requirement.

Adrian and co-counsel Bryan Orihel teamed up in court to represent a Brown client who had been pulled over and charged with the unlawful carrying of a weapon combined with the possession of marijuana. The officer who pulled the client over failed to demonstrate the need for pulling him over in the first place.

But without the officer demonstrating probable cause for stopping the client and searching the vehicle initially, all charges were dismissed due to the unreasonable search, which was a clear violation of the client’s Fourth-Amendment rights that are guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. As you might discern, knowledge of the law is paramount in a federal criminal defense case.

Also during this time frame, Brown criminal defense attorney Travis Baskin successfully defended a client who was pulled over for what an area police officer tried to prove as reckless driving. Travis was able to demonstrate to the prosecution that the client was only speeding, and not driving in a reckless manner. Having proven that standard, Travis’ client was only charged with a Class “C” speeding offense.

In another legal matter which involved an Administrative License Revocation (ALR) hearing, the San Antonio DWI attorneys at the Law Office of Shawn C. Brown were more than up to a stellar defense to get the charges dismissed. Expecting nothing less than the most competent representation available, this trusting client greatly benefited from a solid defense by being able to keep his driver’s license.
